OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this
unit you should be able to:

1. understand the practical use
of the study of sedimentary environments;

2. describe in detail the different
kinds of environments of deposition within the continental, transitional
or marine realm;

3. explain what characteristics
in each kind of environment may reflect the conditions at the time of deposition;

4. evidence of progradation in meandering
rivers, deltas and barrier island complexes;

5. relate lithologies and structures
with particular environments.
